A Look Inside Our Lost Wax Carving Workshop in Melbourne — And What Sets Ours Apart From The Rest.
If you’ve been hunting for a creative workshop in Melbourne that feels personal, welcoming, and actually lets you make something you’re excited to wear… you’re in the right place.
Our Lost Wax Carving Jewellery Workshop isn’t just another “make a stacking ring” class. It’s a slow-paced, intimate session guided by two professional jewellers with different skillsets, vibes, and styles — which means you get double the knowledge, double the ideas, and double the hands-on support.
Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, planning a meaningful date, or simply craving a creative reset, this experience is beginner-friendly, relaxed, and genuinely rewarding. You won’t just walk away with a piece of jewellery — you’ll walk away with a new connection to the craft itself.
What Is a Lost Wax Carving Workshop?
Lost wax carving is a centuries-old jewellery technique where you sculpt your design using jeweller’s wax, which is then cast into metal. It’s how many jewellers — including us — create our signet rings, pendants, charms, and custom pieces.
In our workshop, you’ll spend 3 hours designing, shaping, carving, smoothing, and refining your own piece from scratch, with Steph and Sian guiding you every step of the way.
What Makes Our Workshop Different?
1 — You’re not limited to just rings.
Most wax carving workshops in Melbourne stick to one project:
- A stacking ring
- Or a signet ring
Not here. Not ever. If you can dream it (and carve it) in the time we have — you can make it.
- Chunky pendants
- Sculptural rings
- Earring charms
- Sentimental pieces
This is your chance to create a future heirloom — something you’ll actually wear, treasure, and maybe even pass down one day.
2 — You get two jewellers guiding you, not one.
Steph and Sian each bring completely different strengths, techniques, and creative brains to the table. This means you get:
- two sets of eyes on your work
- two perspectives on problem-solving
- two creative styles to pull inspiration from
- and twice the hands-on support
It’s a level of personalised attention that’s simply not offered anywhere else in Melbourne.
What Can You Make?
Each person gets 10g of sterling silver included (plenty for most small-to-medium designs), with the option to add an extra 10g for $50 if you’re dreaming bigger.
You’ll also have access to a curated selection of gemstones to add to your design for a small fee. We’ll chat through setting styles at the end of the session — flush, star-set, bezel — and we will set the stone for you after casting.
No cookie-cutter pieces. No “everyone leaves with the exact same ring.” Just your own original design.
What Happens After the Workshop?
Your wax piece will be taken to our trusted Melbourne CBD refiner for casting.
Once it returns, we’ll professionally clean, polish, finish, and set any stones before organising delivery or pickup. Turnaround is usually 2–3 weeks.
No Experience Needed
This workshop is for the curious — not just the creatively gifted. You can come with zero experience and still walk out feeling wildly proud of what you've made.
Whether you're flying solo, gifting the experience, or coming with your favourite person, the vibe is warm, inclusive, and relaxed. The studio is ground-floor accessible with plenty of parking at the front door.
